Further evidence of my theory that Bill Richardson should be president. He's about to sign into law a bill that would legalize medical marijuana. Pretty ballsy for a guy running for president. Mind you, New Mexico would be the 12th state to legalize for medical purposes. But the rule of the jungle is normally that you don't throw ammo towards your opponents. The following quote simply confirms his status as a mensch. "So what if it's risky? Its the right thing to do....What we're talking about is 160 people in deep pain. It only effects them". Hey Ares, are you sure anything good can come from New Mexico? Personally I find it a wonderful place to visit.
Many people say things that sound good, feel like promises. Because of politics, the governmental dinosaur takes forever to feel the spear you are jabbing in its tail. Then you run into all the people who have been working for the government forever and they say, "We have always done it this way." And you will never convince them that your idea has merit.
It is refreshing to have someone say something that may be unpopular. I hope he can become a part of "higher" government and keep it going.
Personally I would rather not use prescribed medicine to deal with pain. I hate the side effects.
